Un-Built Projects 2023
18” x 24” graphite and colored pencil on paper
Calling this series “un-built projects” is a bit tongue-in-cheek. They are in my portfolio, but as unbuildable ideas. They are imaginary buildings which suggest materials and technology that don’t presently exist. They also suggest building programs that serve a society or culture with very different needs, responsibilities and goals. Perhaps they support an evolved species of homo sapiens.
Most of the drawings in this series show a strong relationship of building to landscape, a landscape that seems strangely empty, the result of what?
