This Vermont residence sits on a relatively small, but beautiful site right on Lake Champlain. The program of the house required 10,000 square feet of space, but every effort was made to keep the house modest in scale and integrated into its natural surroundings. The varied shapes and massing of the house, the various layers of texture in the elevations, the material and color choices and the respect for the site made the house a good neighbor on its rocky shoreline and virtually invisible to views from the lake itself.
